Keeping Your Finger on the Pulse: Innovative Community Efforts to Support Women’s Heart Health
Join us for our second annual NWBPAW summit highlighting innovative approaches to hypertension management and treatment through community initiatives to support women’s heart health. Attendees will hear from subject matter experts in the field, OWH Self-Management Blood Pressure (SMBP) Program Champions and Phase II awardees of the HHS Hypertension Innovator Award Competition.

OWH Heart Health Resources
For most women, high blood pressure can be controlled through lifestyle changes such as reducing salt intake, increasing physical activity, and managing stress in healthy ways. Your health care provider and local health department may have resources to help you develop your personalized plan to lower and maintain a healthy blood pressure. We also have tips to help you on your journey to a healthier heart!
OWH Self-Measured Blood Pressure (SMBP) Program and Resources
The HHS Office on Women’s Health (OWH) Self-Measured Blood Pressure (SMBP) Program is a network of public and private organizations focused on heart health with an emphasis on self-measured (self-monitored) blood pressure control. The collaborations from this group work to increase knowledge about hypertension and cardiovascular disease, expand access to SMBP resources, and encourage organizations to address heart health disparities, prevent hypertension, promote healthy blood pressures, and improve health equity on a community level.

OWH Hypertension Innovator Phase II Awardees
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office on Women’s Health (OWH) is excited to highlight the 15 Phase II awardees of the HHS Hypertension Innovator Award Competition. The national competition was developed by OWH to identify programs that use innovative methods of blood pressure monitoring and follow-up to care during pregnancy and postpartum.
